Qube celebrates a new home in RockyAssets
Qube Bulk marked the official opening of its brand new warehouse facility on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, supporting critical mineral supply chains, warehousing, and transport services throughout Central Queensland.
The new Parkhurst depot on Monier Road, the culmination of a $14 million investment in Rockhampton, was officially opened by the Member for Rockhampton, Mrs Donna Kirkland MP, at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on site.
The new facility establishes a permanent footprint for Qube – Australia’s leading provider of integrated import and export logistics – in the region.
“Qube’s investment in Rockhampton is a really important vote of confidence,” Mrs Kirkland said.
“Close to a $15 million investment into our region speaks volumes. What it says is: Queensland is open for business.”
Qube’s General Manager – Mining Services, Sam Leszczynski, said the facility was a significant upgrade on the leased facility formerly occupied by Qube – and reflective of the importance of the region to Qube.
“Rocky is at the economic heart of Central Queensland, and our new Parkhurst Depot will act as a crucial hub for our operations in the Bowen and Surat basins, the Central Highlands and at the Port of Gladstone,” Mr Leszczynski said.
“Importantly, this new facility will support our key customer, QMAG, in getting their premium high-purity magnesia to market and support their vision to expand production to 300,000 tonnes per annum.
“High-purity magnesia is an essential input into sectors underpinning the global energy transition, including nickel, cobalt and rare earth processing, and demand is accelerating in key markets, so we’re excited to be investing to help make QMAG’s vision a reality.”
QMAG Managing Director, Brendon Pambid, welcomed Qube’s investment and the role the new facility will play in the QMAG supply chain.
“Qube is a vital partner to QMAG, and we very much welcome this investment in their Rockhampton operations and the QMAG supply chain,” said Mr Pambid.
“With more than 35 years of operations, QMAG is a key regional employer and economic contributor, supporting over 200 direct jobs and a broad network of contractors, suppliers and service providers, while exporting to global industrial, environmental and advanced manufacturing markets.
“With the ongoing support of partners like Qube, and with the support of state and federal governments to help tackle the infrastructure and cost pressures confronting our industry, we look forward to making our 300Kt Vision a reality.”
