Australian Amalgamated Terminals.
Australian Amalgamated Terminals (AAT) is a multi-user, open-access port facility provider, supporting the general stevedoring industry.
AAT has terminals in several major capital cities on the east coast of Australia, providing services including:
- Breakbulk
- Bulk
- Automotive
- Steel
- General cargo
- Mixed container/breakbulk vessels
AAT also provides fully approved Customs systems and procedures for stevedores and their contracted shipping lines, as well as the latest IT technology and sheds and stevedoring equipment for efficient cargo handling and control through the terminal.
ACCC Undertaking
In November 2016, Qube and AAT gave a court-enforceable undertaking to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) to enable Qube to acquire the other half of AAT that it did not already own (Undertaking). Qube has also developed a Management Manual to summarise the obligations of the Qube Group and its related entities associated with the Undertaking. A copy of the Undertaking (as subsequently varied) and a summary of it, together with the Management Manual are available below.
Under the Undertaking, Qube (and AAT) must permit a person to raise a non-price dispute under the non-price dispute resolution process provided for in the Undertaking. Non-price disputes may relate to such matters as the granting of access, any refusal to grant access or the terms of access. They may also include disputes in relation to whether AAT has complied with its open access conditions or its obligations in relation to confidentiality and ring-fencing.
